Cheek Enhancement

Cheek Enhancement Sargent Plastic Surgery 2290 Ogletree Ave Suite 112 Chattanooga, TN 37421 Larry Sargent MD FACS

What Is A Cheek Enhancement?

The cheeks play a prominent role in facial appearance. The fuller more prominent cheek is associated with a youthful appearance. Aging results in descending of the fat pads in the cheeks as well as decreasing in volume. The surgical placement of cheek implants is designed to enhance cheek fullness and contour.
A less invasive option is to use soft tissue fillers or a patient’s own fat to augment this area.

Dr. Sargent offers 30+ years of experience in Plastic Surgery to Chattanooga, TN., and has his own in-office operative suite.

Who Is A Candidate For A Cheek Enhancement?

If healthy, with realistic expectations you could be a candidate for cheek implants if:

  • You have loss of volume and contour in cheeks from aging

  • Congenitally flat cheeks with no prominence

  • More prominent “cheekbones”

Careful preoperative education and good communication with your surgeon should be done to avoid over augmentation with facial imbalance.

How Is The Procedure Performed?

A small incision is made inside the mouth and a pocket created over the cheekbone area. Custom implants (usually silicone) are positioned and secured to increase fullness and improve contour. The incision is closed with dissolvable sutures.
